School Requests

This English scheme of work for Key Stage Two gets the children to practise using persuasive language and sentence structures to compose and present requests about different things that could happen in the school. The class can produce adverts, letters and reports to persuade someone to complete an action.

School Traffic
Select and compile a list of arguments for and against some of the problems caused by traffic that moves around the school’s neighbourhood

Explain and model how to write adverts and complete application forms using persuasive language for some of the different jobs that need to be performed in a school classroom

School Olympics
Identify and describe how to compose and publish a letter to persuade the International Olympic Committee to hold and run the next games on the school field
