Robot Functions

This English scheme of work for Key Stage Two gets the children to identify and model how to structure and format explanation texts about why and how robots function to complete tasks in the world. The class can explain how to use paragraphs when composing their explanations on different topics.

Robot World
Investigate and model how to write an explanation to describe how and why different robots might work in the future, to complete a range of tasks and jobs in the world

Household Robots
Research and write explanations to describe how any why different household devices work by robots performing each of the tasks and jobs

Future Robots
Practise writing a range of sentences for use in explanations about how and why robots might perform different functions and jobs in the future to support families

School Grounds
Explain and model how to measure and calculate the perimeters and areas of different shaped locations around the school grounds

Rainforest Presentations
Select, manipulate and combine different forms of media to create a multimedia presentation about an aspect of life in a rainforest habitat

Flag Printing
Practise and refine different techniques when printing colours, shapes and patterns to design flags to match specific locations

Angle Observations
Identify, locate and classify examples of right, acute and obtuse angles that can be observed in a range of different shapes, objects and locations
