Lesson Three – Colour Mixing

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe the shades of colours that can be seen in different flowers and a worksheet to investigate and record the different colours that can be mixed using combinations of red, yellow and blue paints.

The interactive presentation can be used to explore the different colours that can be mixed by using red, yellow and blue paints to represent flower petals.

This lesson is part of an art and design scheme of work to get the children to explore and model how to select, mix and use shades of different colours using a range of artwork techniques in a still life painting of a vase of flowers. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
