Lesson One – Islamic Prophets

This religious education teaching pack for Key Stage One gets the children to explore, describe and illustrate the importance and significance of the teachings of the prophet Muhammad in the Islamic religion.

The class can identify and list some of the special rules that were delivered by Muhammad to the followers of Islam to observe in their lives as they follow the religion.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe the rules and beliefs observed by Muslims as followers of Islam, a template to write a news report describing some of the rules that were delivered by Muhammad to Muslims and a worksheet to complete different sentences outlining rules followed by followers of Islam.

The interactive presentation can be used to explore and illustrate the importance of the prophet Muhammad in the Islamic religion to Muslims.

This lesson is part of a religious education scheme of work to get the children to explore and illustrate some of the different stories, beliefs and practices of the Islamic religion including special festivals and sacred texts. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
