Lesson Six – Easter Garden

This religious education teaching pack for Key Stage One gets the children to design and produce a model to explore some of the different symbols and shapes that can be used to represent what happened at Easter.

The class can select and add information tags to explain what happened to Jesus when he was placed into the tomb following his crucifixion on a cross.

Activities in this teaching pack include a set of cards to identify and describe the sequence of events in a story from the Bible about what happened to Jesus at Easter and a template to select and record what happened to Jesus after he was placed in a tomb.

The interactive presentation can be used to produce a model to explore some of the different symbols and shapes that can be used to represent Easter.

This lesson is part of a religious education scheme of work to get the children to identify, describe and illustrate how families can demonstrate and celebrate their beliefs about God through special religious celebrations at Easter. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
