Lesson One – Special and Ordinary Days

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe how and why people celebrate special occasions during the year and in their lives and templates to produce a card to give to someone special to celebrate different types of religious and non-religious events that occur throughout the year.

This lesson is part of a religious education scheme of work to get the children to identify, describe and illustrate how families can demonstrate and celebrate their beliefs about God through special religious celebrations at Easter. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
