Bible Stories

This Religious Education scheme of work for Years One and Two in Key Stage One gets the children to research and illustrate how the teachings of Jesus are presented in stories from the Bible. The class can use literacy and art and design skills to show some of the main themes and scenarios presented in each story.

Lesson One : Lost Son
Explore how to identify and describe some of the moral teachings that were given by Jesus to his followers as presented in a story from the Bible

Lesson Two : Good Samaritan
Practise selecting and role-playing some different friendship scenarios based on a story from the Bible told by Jesus about helping others

Lesson Three : Jesus Calms the Storm
Investigate how to write and present a prayer to illustrate some of the special themes that are presented in a story from the Bible about an event in the life of Jesus

Lesson Four : Feeding the Five Thousand
Investigate and record the themes and teachings in a story from the Bible about how Jesus supported his followers and friends through different events and actions

Lesson Five : Temptation
Practise using a story from the Bible about the life of Jesus to explore and record how and why people are tempted in life to perform different actions

Lesson Six : Stained Glass Windows
Explore and record how to design and produce artwork illustrating how Jesus taught other people how to live good lives by using stories from the Bible
