Lesson Two – Train Whistle

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and explain how to play percussion instruments at different durations and a set of cards to play and sort sounds made by percussion instruments into groups according to their duration for long and short sounds.

The interactive presentation can be used to explore how to produce long and short durations of sounds to represent different parts found on a train.

This lesson is part of a music scheme of work to get the children to practise composing and playing different sounds and rhythm patterns to represent the movement of a train using long and short durations.
