Lesson Four – Number Lists

This maths teaching pack for Key Stage One gets the children to identify and record the matching groups of numbers with numerical values that are greater than and less than some other numbers to ten.
The class can practise using concrete equipment to model and record each list of numbers which can be compared using the correct symbols for greater than and less than.

Activities in this teaching pack include a differentiated set of worksheets to select and record groups of numbers that are greater than and less than other numbers to ten for core and extension ability levels and to five for support ability levels using the correct pictorial symbols.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore groups of matching numbers that are greater than and less than some other numbers to ten.
This lesson is part of a maths scheme of work to get the children to use concrete equipment and diagrams to model how to compare numbers within twenty by the value of their digits when recording equations using numbers and symbols. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
