Download this teaching pack including a lesson plan, classroom activities and an interactive presentation to teach the children to test and describe some of the different ways of joining a range of materials to build a model castle wall to match success criteria

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe some of the reasons as to why castles were constructed in specific ways in the past and a template to select and record different ways of joining materials to build a castle wall to match success criteria.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to test and describe different ways of joining materials to build a model castle wall.

This lesson is part of a design technology scheme of work to get the children to explore and model some of the different shapes and techniques that can be used to construct a model of a castle showing the main parts and their functions. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
