Lesson One – Cooking Pizzas

This curriculum topic teaching pack for the Foundation Stage gets the children to explore how to identify and describe some of the different types of coloured food that can be used when making a pizza for a family dinner.
The class can select and record one of their favorite toppings that can be added to a pizza using example picture illustrations and the names of the matching colours.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify vocabulary words that can be used to describe different foods, a template to record the matching colours that can be seen in a type of food and a set of cards to label the colours of foods that have been used in artwork of a model pizza.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to identify and describe different types of coloured food that can be used to make a pizza.
