Easter Story

This curriculum topic teaching pack for the Foundation Stage gets the children to explore and illustrate the main sequence of events in the Easter story and understand the role of different characters in the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. The class can produce pictures and models to record the main events in the story.

Identify and record the meaning behind some of the different symbols and shapes that can be used during Easter celebrations to remember what happened to Jesus

Lesson Two : Jesus’ Miracles
Explore and describe some of the different miracles that were performed by Jesus in the days before his arrival into Jerusalem as part of the Easter story

Lesson Three : Jesus’ Friends
Identify and record the sequence of events in some of the stories about Jesus’ life about his followers and friends

Lesson Four : Palm Sunday
Explore and record information about the arrival of Jesus into Jerusalem and suggest how to welcome visitors in similar scenarios

Lesson Five : Jesus in Jerusalem
Investigate and record what happened to Jesus and the disciples in Jerusalem and sequence the matching story events leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion by the Romans

Lesson Six : Easter Garden
Explore and record information about the resurrection of Jesus as part of the Easter story and make a model of a garden with a range of different flowers and plants
