Lesson Five – People

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to count numbers of people walking down a street to ten using concrete objects, a set of cards to identify and record numbers of shapes that are one more than different numbers to ten and a template to illustrate matching sets of people to ten that could be walking down a street.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to count and record one more for different numbers of people that might live in an area to ten.
This lesson is part of a numeracy scheme of work to get the children to count and record numbers of different objects that are one more than numbers to ten by using objects around the school and in the local area. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
