Garden Measurements

This numeracy scheme of work for the Foundation Stage gets the children to practise using vocabulary words and non-standard measurements to find and compare the length of different things that can found in a garden. The class can make lists of objects to match the measurement words for length and height.

Garden Heights

Practise sorting some different types of plants and flowers that are grown in a family garden into matching groups by their height

Investigate and record how to compare and order some different leaves found in a garden location by their matching lengths using non-standard measurements

Explore and record how to use some non-standard measurements to measure the height of different flowers that can be found in garden areas around the school grounds
