Activities in this teaching pack include a set of cards to identify and add matching initial phoneme sounds to complete different cvc words adding illustrations to indicate the meaning of each word and a worksheet to select different letters of the alphabet and make matching models for each initial sound.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to select and record predictions as to how a story might change with different characters and plot events.

This lesson is part of a literacy scheme of work to get the children to identify different ways that authors can use descriptive vocabulary in stories and select and use initial sounds in words based on The Mixed-up Chameleon by Eric Carle.
