Lesson Three – Same or Different

Activities in this teaching pack include a set of cards to select and build some different cvc words using letter strings and initial sounds adding illustrations to indicate their matching meanings and a template to produce a picture of an animal related to a story using a range of different materials.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore some of the special events that happen in a narrative story with an animal character and suggest the consequences of different character actions.
This lesson is part of a literacy scheme of work to get the children to identify different ways that authors can use descriptive vocabulary in stories and select and use initial sounds in words based on The Mixed-up Chameleon by Eric Carle. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
