Lesson Four – Waterproof Hat

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify vocabulary words that can be used to describe different types of hats, a template to select and record different materials that have waterproofing properties for head wear and a worksheet to record the design for head wear that will be suitable for different functions.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to select different types of materials by their properties to make an item of clothing.

This lesson is part of a curriculum topic scheme of work to get the children to investigate and test some of the properties of different materials that can be used for clothing to provide protection from the rain.
