Lesson Two – Farm Jobs

This curriculum topic teaching pack for the Foundation Stage gets the children to identify and describe some of the different jobs that are performed on a farm during the autumn harvest when collecting crops from the fields.
The class can select and make lists of crops that can be harvested using a range of jobs on a farm by a farmer such digging and using a tractor.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify different actions performed on a farm during the autumn harvest, a template to record some of the special actions that can be performed by a farmer when harvesting crops and a worksheet to list some of the crops grown and harvested on a farm.
The interactive presentation gets the children to identify and describe some of the different jobs that are performed on a farm during the autumn harvest.
This lesson is part of a curriculum topic scheme of work to get the children to investigate how farmers collect the harvest in the autumn including grown crops and food sources from animals and explore how the harvest can be celebrated. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
