Lesson Three – Harvest Soup

Activities in this teaching pack include posters to identify how to use vegetables to make different meals, a template to make a record of the different vegetables used to produce some soup to celebrate harvest and a vocabulary word bank to identify and describe some of the crops grown and harvested on a farm using different actions.

The interactive presentation gets the children to investigate and record how harvested crops can be used to make different meals for special family meals.

This lesson is part of a curriculum topic scheme of work to get the children to investigate how farmers collect the harvest in the autumn including grown crops and food sources from animals and explore how the harvest can be celebrated. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
