Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe the shape of different vegetables, a vocabulary word bank to name some of the crops grown and harvested on a farm using different actions and an activity to select and make models of different vegetables to match a range of shapes.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to produce sculptures of a range of different vegetables that can be used to celebrate the autumn harvest.
This lesson is part of a curriculum topic scheme of work to get the children to investigate how farmers collect the harvest in the autumn including grown crops and food sources from animals and explore how the harvest can be celebrated. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
