Push and Pull
This curriculum scheme of work for the Foundation Stage gets the children to identify, describe and test some of the different pushing and pulling forces that can be used to move objects.The class can explore what happens when toy vehicles are moved across different surfaces and materials.

Identify, sort and record how to move a range of different things by using the matching pushing and pulling forces to produce movements
Lesson Two : Pulling Trains
Investigate and test how to move a range of different objects by using a pulling force movement to produce a matching action
Changing Speed
Identify, test and record a range of different ways of changing the speed and movement of toy vehicles when pulled and pushed
Lesson Four : Moving Cars
Explore and record how a range of different surface materials can affect the movement and speed of toy vehicles when using pushing and pulling forces

Explore how to count and record the numbers of different pieces of school equipment that can be found in trays stored around the classroom
