Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe the age of different parts of a building in the school’s neighbourhood and a template to select and record comments and observations about one of the buildings that can be found close to the school.

The interactive presentation can be used to explore and record some of the improvements and changes that have been made to a post office building close to the school.

This lesson is part of a history scheme of work to get the children to identify, describe and compare some of the changes to different buildings that have occurred in the school’s neighbourhood over time. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
