Activities in this teaching pack include a template to select and record a sentence caption to describe an animal featured in a picture taken from a magazine and a worksheet to select different letters of the alphabet to match objects listed in a non-fiction book.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to compose and write simple sentences to describe some of the different animals that are featured in pictures.

This lesson is part of a literacy scheme of work to get the children to practise finding information in non-fiction books about different animals that live around the world, match the names of animals to the corresponding letters of the alphabet and write simple sentences as captions for pictures of favourite animals.
