Lesson Two – Pulling Trains

This curriculum topic teaching pack for the Foundation Stage gets the children to investigate and test how to move a range of different objects by using a pulling force movement to produce a matching action.

The class can explore and record what happens when objects are pulled across different surface materials to show how they might affect the movement when pulled.

Download this teaching pack including a lesson plan, classroom activities and an interactive presentation to investigate and test how to move a range of different objects by using a pulling force movement to produce a matching action

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to explain how to use push and pull forces to move different objects and a template to select and record if they can pull an object across a range of different surface materials to identify how they can affect movements.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to move a range of different objects by using a pulling force movement.

This lesson is part of a curriculum topic scheme of work to get the children to identify, describe and test some of the different pushing and pulling forces that can be used to move a range of objects. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
