Activities in this teaching pack include a shared reading text to identify how to structure and format a recount of an event or experience, am activity sheet to collect information to answer key questions as preparation for writing a recount, a template to help structure a recount text.
The interactive presentation can be used to explain how to recount an event that took place in the school by using an oral presentation.
This lesson is part of an English scheme of work to get the children to explain and model how to compose a range of different recounts to illustrate some of the special events that might happen during the school year. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
