Activities in this teaching pack include a shared reading text to explain how to structure and format a report of a family event or experience, a worksheet to select and record information that can answer questions about an event experienced during the summer holiday, a template to structure and format a news report about a family event and a vocabulary word bank to support writing a report about an event experienced during the summer holidays.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to describe and record some of the different events and experiences that were completed and enjoyed by the class during the summer holidays.
This lesson is part of an English scheme of work to get the children to investigate and model how to compose news reports to describe some of the special events that can be experienced by a family.
