Lesson One – Simple Circuits

This science teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to investigate, model and record some of the different ways of building simple electrical circuits to control a range of devices.
The class can explain and diagram how to sequence electrical components to build a functioning circuit that can be used to operate a specific device such as a bulb or a buzzer.
Download this teaching pack including a lesson plan, classroom activities and an interactive presentation to investigate, model and record some of the different ways of building simple electrical circuits to control a range of devices
Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe some of the special symbols that can be used to represent electrical devices and a set of cards to select and record how to build range of series circuits that work correctly to power electrical devices.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore some of the different ways of building simple electrical circuits to control a range of devices.
This lesson is part of a science scheme of work to get the children to identify and record how to build a range of electrical series circuits to control and manage devices and components for different functions and outputs. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
