Lesson Four – Islamic Festivals

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe how Muslims participate in a special time during the Islamic year, a worksheet to record the timing of how and when Muslims participate in a special Islamic festival, a template to write a recount to describe how and when Muslims observe Ramadan and a vocabulary word bank to select adverbials of time to use when writing a recount.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to compose a recount to describe how Muslims observe the festival of Ramadan as part of their religion.

This lesson is part of a religious education scheme of work to get the children to explore some of the different traditions, stories, beliefs and practices that Muslims follow and adopt when practising the Islamic religion.
