Tree Ornaments

This art and design teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to explain and record how to build collage pictures using a range of different materials to use on Christmas tree decorative ornaments.
The class can identify and describe the 2D shapes used as the faces on different 3D shapes that might be used for a decorated ornament to hang on a Christmas tree.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and count 2D shape faces found on different 3D shapes and differentiated templates to devise and create collage pictures on the faces of 3D shapes to make different decorations to hang on a Christmas tree.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to build collage pictures using a range of different materials for use on Christmas tree ornaments.
This lesson is part of an art an design scheme of work to get the children to practise using a range of materials and art techniques to create models of different decorations that can be used to celebrate Christmas.
