Equal Groups

This maths scheme of work for Key Stage One gets the children to explore and record how to divide numbers of different groups of things into matching equal groups of two, three and four. The class can practise using concrete equipment and pictorial diagrams to model how to share things into equal groups.

Vegetable Groups

Investigate and record how to divide different numbers of tools and equipment that can be used in a family garden into matching equal groups of two, three and four

Park Visit
Explore and record how to solve number word problems by dividing and sharing quantities of some of the different things that can be seen and used at a park into equal groups

Develop and refine word processing skills when labelling and organising different parts and equipment that can be used when riding a bicycle
