Lesson One – Laws of Motion

This science teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to investigate and devise a range of different tests to prove Newton’s three laws of motions to illustrate how forces can act on objects.
The class can record and present data and results from their tests to explain how each of the laws work in relation to different forces such as friction and gravity.
Download this teaching pack including a lesson plan, classroom activities and an interactive presentation to investigate and devise a range of different tests to prove Newton’s three laws of motions to illustrate how forces can act on objects
Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe the meaning behind Newton’s Three Laws of Motion and differentiated sets of cards to test and record different forces that are connected to Newton’s Three Laws of Motion.
The interactive presentation can be used to explore how to devise and perform different tests to prove Newton’s three laws of motions.
This lesson is part of a science scheme of work to get the children to investigate, test and record some of the effects that the force of gravity can have on a range of different objects and materials. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
