Lesson Five – Volley Shots

This physical education teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to develop and practise some of the special skills that are needed to control and return a tennis ball across a net when using a volley shot.
The class can explain and model how to perform shots in tennis when returning the ball before it bounces on the court for the opposing player to attempt to return back across the net.

Activities in this teaching pack include a set of cards to rotate around a selection of mini-games to practise some of the different skills that are needed when using a volley shot to return a ball in tennis which the opposing player can attempt to hit and return.
