Lesson Two – Triangle Shapes

This maths teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to identify, measure and calculate the matching values in degrees of the angles that can be found in different sized isosceles triangles.
The class can explain and model how to use protractors to measure one angle and then perform number calculations to find the other pair of angles in each selected triangle.
Download this teaching pack including a lesson plan, classroom activities and an interactive presentation to identify, measure and calculate the matching values in degrees of the angles that can be found in different sized isosceles triangles
Activities in this teaching pack include a set of differentiated worksheets to identify and calculate the sets of three angles that can be found in an isosceles triangle when using protractors to measure the degree values of one angle and then number calculations to find the other pairs of angles.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to measure and calculate the different angles that can be found in an isosceles triangle.
This lesson is part of a maths scheme of work to get the children to record measurements and complete calculations to identify the value and type of angles found on a range of different 2D shapes. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
