Lesson Three – Angle Match

This maths teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to investigate how to identify, name and record some of the matching types of angles that can be found in a range of different geometric shapes.
The class can practise using a right angle tester to identify, record and categorise some examples of acute and obtuse angles as smaller or bigger than a right angle.
Download this teaching pack including a lesson plan, classroom activities and an interactive presentation to investigate how to identify, name and record some of the matching types of angles that can be found in a range of different geometric shapes
Activities in this teaching pack include a differentiated set of cards to select and record a range of geometric shapes that can match different statements for their individual properties including shapes with acute and obtuse angles for core and extension ability levels and angles bigger or smaller than a right angle for support ability levels.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to record the matching types of angles that can be found in a range of different geometric shapes.
This lesson is part of a maths scheme of work to get the children to investigate, record and compare the matching properties of different types of triangle shapes including their sets of right, acute and obtuse angles. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
