Lesson Four – Triangle Groups

This maths teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to practise recording, classifying and organising some different examples of triangles by their individual matching properties for the number and types of angles.
The class can explain and model how to identify and match some examples of acute and obtuse angles by comparing them to a right angle using an angle tester shape.
Download this teaching pack including a lesson plan, classroom activities and an interactive presentation to practise recording, classifying and organising some different examples of triangles by their individual matching properties for the number and types of angles
Activities in this teaching pack include a worksheet and set of cards to model how to sort different examples of triangles by their individual properties into matching groups to show the number and types of angles that can be seen in each triangle shape.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to classify and organise some different types of triangles by their matching individual properties for angles.
This lesson is part of a maths scheme of work to get the children to investigate, record and compare the matching properties of different types of triangle shapes including their sets of right, acute and obtuse angles. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
