Lesson Five – Viking Beliefs

This history teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to investigate and present facts and information about some of the different gods that were worshipped by the Vikings and their spiritual beliefs about the creation of the world.

The class can practise making a model of some jewellery to illustrate Viking beliefs about how they think the world was created.

Activities in this teaching pack include shared reading texts to identify and describe some of the different gods and goddesses worshipped by the Vikings in the past and what they believed about the creation of the world and a template to design a shape to record and illustrate how the Vikings believe the Earth was created.

The interactive presentation can be used to explore some of the different gods that were worshipped by the Vikings and their beliefs about the creation of the world.

This lesson is part of a history scheme of work to get the children to explore how the Vikings settled and built communities in Britain in the past by referencing their culture and traditions.
