Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to order the events in the life of Neil Armstrong and his role in the space race, a worksheet to select and record notes to use in a written report about space exploration and a template to structure and format a report about the Moon landing in 1969 as part of the space race.
The interactive presentation can be used to explore how to write a report about a significant event that occurred during the space race in the post war period.
This lesson is part of a history scheme of work to get the children to explore how the space race in the 1950s and 1960s heralded a number of technological, cultural and political changes and advancements in the world.
