Lesson Three – Hadrian’s Wall

This history teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to explain and record how and why the Romans built Hadrian’s wall to overcome some of the problems that the they faced when invading Britain in the past.
The class can practise listing instructions for the Romans to follow when building a section of Hadrian’s wall to protect from an attack by the Picts across the border in Scotland.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to describe the creation of Hadrian’s Wall along the border between England and Scotland in the past, a shared reading text to identify and explain how and why the Hadrian’s Wall was constructed along the border between England and Scotland in the past and a set of cards to select and sort a set of instructions about how to build Hadrian’s Wall in the past.
