Lesson Three – Beaker Culture

This history teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to investigate and record how art, culture and trade developed during prehistoric times in Britain’s past as part of Beaker culture.

The class can practise producing and labelling a model of a clay beaker to suggest how it might have been used by people living in the Bronze Age for specific functions.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe some of the different artefacts that were made and used during the Bronze Age from clay, a shared reading text to explore Beaker Culture that developed in Britain during the Bronze Age and a template to select and record information about a clay model of an historical artefact based on Beaker culture.

The interactive presentation can be used to explore and record how art, culture and trade developed during prehistoric Britain as part of Beaker culture.

This lesson is part of a history scheme of work to get the children to research and illustrate how life in Britain developed and changed during the Bronze Age including the growth of communities and trade.
