This history scheme of work for Key Stage Two gets the children to research and illustrate how life in Britain developed and changed during the Bronze Age including the growth of communities and trade. The class can identify and explain how historians use artefacts to explore what happened in prehistoric Britain.

Investigate and present facts and information about some of different artefacts that were developed and produced during the Bronze Age in a school exhibition

Lesson Two : Bronze Age Chiefs
Explore how to identify and describe some of the ways that people were governed and ruled during the Bronze Age in Britain by chiefs and tribal leaders

Lesson Three : Beaker Culture
Investigate and record how art, culture and trade developed during prehistoric times in Britain’s past as part of Beaker culture

Lesson Four : Warriors and Raiders
Explore, describe and illustrate how some different communities grew, traded and fought each other in prehistoric Britain during the Bronze Age

Lesson Five : Flag Fen
Practise different ways of learning about the life in the Bronze Age by using archaeological findings of artefacts left behind in prehistoric Britain

Lesson Six : Daily Life
Practise comparing and sorting different facts about the daily life of people living in Stone Age and Bronze Age Britain in the past
