Lesson One – History Research

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe the form and function of historical artefacts, a table display card to support investigation of an artefact from Ancient Egypt and a template to record information about the form and function of an historical artefact from Ancient Egypt.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to use historical artefacts to suggest answers to a range of different questions about Ancient Egypt.
This lesson is part of a history scheme of work to get the children to investigate the growth and development of the Ancient Egyptian civilization by exploring and recording information about historical artefacts using primary and secondary sources. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
