Lesson Two – Road Hazards

This geography teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to investigate and present information about some of the different traffic hazards and dangers that can be seen and experienced on a road near to the school.

The class can compile tally charts and present the collected information on graphs showing some of the vehicles travelling on a road in the local area close to the school.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and explain how to present information from a road survey about dangers and hazards and templates to count and record a tally of the number of vehicles travelling on a road near to the school and present the information using a block graph.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore some of the traffic hazards and dangers that can be seen on a road near the school.

This lesson is part of a geography scheme of work to get the children to identify, describe and compare some of the different traffic hazards and dangers that can be encountered when making journeys in the local area.
