Activities in this teaching pack include a shared reading text about Henry VIII to explore the structure of biographies and a worksheet to practise converting paragraphs from a biography to match different texts.

The interactive presentation gets the children to investigate how to format and structure a specific type of non-fiction text and compose sentences containing facts or opinions.

This lesson is part of an English scheme of work to get the children to investigate different non-fiction texts about the lives of royal monarchs from British history by writing an example biography for a Tudor monarch that might have ruled Britain in the past.
