Activities in this teaching pack include a set of worksheets to get the children to compose and complete different puzzles using words that are commonly confused with each other and model the meaning of each word by using them in example sentences about the lives of kings and queens.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to research a topic using a non-fiction text and the investigate the spelling and meaning of confusing words.

This lesson is part of an English scheme of work to get the children to investigate different non-fiction texts about the lives of royal monarchs from British history by writing an example biography for a Tudor monarch that might have ruled Britain in the past.
