School Happenings

This English scheme of work for Key Stage Two gets the children to investigate how to compose and publish recounts to describe and illustrate some of the special things that can happen in a school. The class can practise using adverbials of time to show the timing of events in their recount writing.

Practise writing a recount of something that could have happened in the school from different viewpoints related to a special weather event

Research and record some of the special things that have happened in the class over the past school year to use when composing a recount of an event

Identify, compare and illustrate the value of different money amounts that have been recorded in pounds and pence

Practise using standard written methods of addition calculation to solve a range of abstract and contextual problems working with sets of four and five digit numbers
