Lesson Four – Bin Design

This computing teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to practise selecting and working with a range of different shapes to create the graphic design for a recycling bin to place in school classrooms.
The class can explain and model how to add and adjust some other shapes and lines to change a 3D shape when producing the matching design for a bin shape.
Download this teaching pack including a lesson plan, classroom activities and an interactive presentation to practise selecting and working with a range of different shapes to create the graphic design for a recycling bin to place in school classrooms
Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe some of the shapes used on different objects and a template to record how to select and combine some different shapes to create the graphic design for a class recycling bin.
The interactive presentation can be used to explore how to use a range of different shapes to create the graphic design for a school recycling bin.
This lesson is part of a computing scheme of work to get the children to select, format and adjust the properties of different shapes when creating the graphic design for a recycling bin for use in school classrooms. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
