Lesson Two – Good Samaritan

This religious education teaching pack for Key Stage One gets the children to practise selecting and role-playing some different friendship scenarios based on a story from the Bible told by Jesus about helping others.
The class can create and perform drama scenes to illustrate and record the meaning of the story of the good Samaritan to explain reasons for the narrative events.

Activities in this teaching pack include a shared reading text to identify and describe some of the moral teachings of Jesus as presented in a story from the Bible, a set of cards to select and role-play a scenario about friendship based on a Bible story and a worksheet to select and record comments about a scenario about friendship based on one of the stories told by Jesus in the Bible.
The interactive presentation can be used to explore how to role-play different friendship scenarios based on a story from the Bible about helping others.
This lesson is part of a religious education scheme of work to get the children to research and illustrate how the teachings of Jesus are presented in different stories from the Bible. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
