Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and explain how to change the pitch on an instrument between high and low sounds and a template to select and record how to alter and change an instrument’s pitch to produce high and low sounds.

The interactive presentation can be used to explore and record some of the different ways of playing musical instruments to alter the pitch between high and low.

This lesson is part of a music scheme of work to get the children to select, compose and play some of the different sounds using high and low pitches that can be made by ships and boats when at sea and in harbours. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
