This music teaching pack for Key Stage One gets the children to investigate how to rehearse and perform musical compositions to reflect some of the different sounds that can be heard when visiting the seashore.
The class can explain and model how to change sounds by playing percussion instruments in different ways to represent movements of things on the beach and in the sea.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to explain how to play sounds to represent the movement of different animals that live in the sea and a template to record sequences of pictures to represent how to play percussion instruments in a composition showing a visit to a seashore location.
The interactive presentation can be used to explore and perform musical compositions to reflect some of the different sounds that can be heard at the seashore.
This lesson is part of a music scheme of work to get the children to compose and perform a range of musical compositions to reflect movements of sea waves and animals that live on a beach and in the sea. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
