Lesson One – Addition Number Sums

This maths teaching pack for Key Stage One gets the children to identify and record a selection of different pairs of numbers that make sums for multiples of ten with matching totals to one hundred.

Activities in this teaching pack include a set of differentiated worksheets to identify and record different pairs of numbers that sum to multiples of ten to fifty for support ability levels, to one hundred for core ability levels and to one hundred and fifty for extension ability levels.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to record different pairs of numbers that sum to multiples of ten up to one hundred.
This lesson is part of a maths scheme of work to get the children to model and illustrate how to add pairs of two digit numbers with multiples of tens and ones and other two digit numbers using concrete equipment, diagrams and informal written calculations.
